Butler turned in an impressive performance Saturday afternoon at the Butler Bubble, knocking off visiting Dayton, 6-0. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 2-2 on the young season.
The Bulldogs avenged a 5-2 loss to the Flyers last season.
Butler captured the doubles points after taking courts 2 and 3 with matching scores of 6-3.
In singles action,
Aviv Ben Shabat dispatched Jordan Benjamin, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 1 spot, to clinch the match after
Mikheil Khmiadashvili (No. 2) and
Spencer Lang (No. 4) posted straight-set victories.
Dayton decided to default the remaining courts that were in play once Butler clinched the match. The No. 6 singles match had not begun.
The Bulldogs host Southern Indiana Saturday at 12:30 at the Tennis Bubble.
