The Bulldogs will face BIG EAST opponent Villanova at home for a doubleheader Saturday at noon with a third game set for Sunday. Saturday's games will be played at Grand Park in Westfield, on diamond 14 near Parking Lot J.

The team carries over a two-game winning streak after taking a 7-4 win over DePaul in the final game of the weekend series and following that with a 5-2 victory at IUPUI Tuesday. Currently, Butler's season record sits at 13-17 and 1-1 in conference play.

Kaitlin Doud each hit a home run against IUPUI Tuesday. Candotti hit her second of the season to give Butler a two-run lead early in the game. Sophomore Doud knocked out her first long ball this year, adding on to her six home runs from last season.

Brandyce Sallee leads the team with a .408 batting average, totaling 20 hits and six runs. Teammate
Sarah Dixon trails Sallee with a .385 average at the plate, but leads the team in RBIs and homeruns, driving in 18 runs and hitting three home runs in 35 at-bats.

Pitcher
Gabbi Schnaiter holds five wins under her belt and was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on March 13. The freshman leads the Bulldogs with 43 strikeouts in 16 appearances.

Doud possesses the team's lowest ERA at 2.87 and picked up her third win of the season against DePaul, allowing only three runs in the second game against the Blue Demons.
Mikeila Boroff and
Kacey Starwalt chip in three and two wins in the circle, respectively. Boroff picked up the win Tuesday at IUPUI, a game that Starwalt came in to register the save.

Taking a look at Villanova, the Wildcats are on a five-game streak after winning the final two games of their three-game series at Seton Hall, followed by three non-conference mid-week contests. Villanova's success is powered by four hitters batting over .360 on the season. Nikki Alden leads the team and the conference at .456. Alden also leads the team and the BIG EAST in slugging percentage (1.000) and RBI (26).
