Scouting Fort Wayne
The Mastodons are 3-10 overall after taking a 12-2 loss at #4 Louisville on Wednesday afternoon. They posted two wins over Alabama A&M to split a four-game weekend series and posted their third win of the year after defeating NJIT 5-3 in late February.

Jake Weber leads the team with a .429 batting average. He has a team-high five doubles to go along with a triple and one home run. Those extra base hits have allowed him to record a team-high 10 RBI. Travis Upp leads the team with two home runs and Brady Hettinger already has two triples after 12 games. Hettinger is also tied for the team lead in steals along with Jackson Boyce. Each student-athlete is 6-for-7 on the season.

Fort Wayne hits .290 as a team, but currently holds a 7.19 team ERA. Three different players have split wins for Fort Wayne. Mitchell Ley is 1-1 on the year with a 4.50 ERA. The other start to post a win is Damian Helm. Fort Wayne's strikeout leader is Jordan Martin. The right-hander has 15 k's in 17 innings of work.

Last Year Against the Mastodons
Butler and Fort Wayne split the regular season series a year ago with each team winning on their home diamond. The Bulldogs posted a 4-1 win over the Mastodons on March 16. Fort Wayne would get revenge with a 1-0 over BU on April 13.

Bulldog Park
Butler will play their next eight games at home with contests lined up against Fort Wayne (3x), Lewis, Saint Louis (3x) and DePauw.

Weekend Forecast
The weather in Indianapolis is going to be cool over the weekend with Friday's high reaching 36 degrees. The sun is supposed to shine on Friday and Sunday, but Saturday could be a problem with a projected high of 32 with clouds. Sunday's forecast bumps up to 35 degrees.

On the Mound
Butler's weekend rotation will feature Jeff Schank, Ryan Pepiot and Connor Mitchell. Schank will take the mound on Friday with his 1.00 ERA. The senior is 1-1 on the year and leads the club with 26 strikeouts. Pepiot is a talented freshman that is 1-0 on the year with a 3.60 ERA. Sunday's tilt vs. the Mastodons will feature Mitchell and his 1.42 ERA. Mitchell is 1-0 on the year with 21 K's in just 19 innings of action.

Hitting Streaks
Jordan Lucio holds the longest hitting streak of the season at six, however the longest current streak belongs to Tyler Houston. Houston has a hit in four-straight games and is coming off a 2-for-5 day at Furman which included two RBI and two runs scored.

Reached Base Steak
Gehrig Parker reached base safely in 11-straight games at the start of the season, but saw his streak snapped at Presbyterian on March 7. The longest current streak belongs to freshman Zach Jarosz who has reached base in six-straight games.

5-for-5
Michael Hartnagel went 5-for-5 at Furman with three RBI and a run scored. It marked the second time in Hartnagel's career where he recorded five hits in a single game. Last year he recorded five hits at St. John's on May 8. The school record for most hits in a single game is six, held by Kyle Waggoner who played for BU during the 2010 season.

Off and Running
Both Butler and Fort Wayne have been active on the base paths this season. Butler has 14 stolen bags on the year with Tyler Houston claiming eight of the 14. Fort Wayne has 20 stolen bases on the year with 12 coming from the duo of Brady Hettinger and Jackson Boyce.

Chicks Dig the Long Ball
Butler has eight home runs over the first 13 games of the regular season. Chris Maranto leads the team with three, but the most recent long ball came off the bat of Garrett Christman which broke a 7-7 tie late in the game at Furman.
