MILWAUKEE – The Butler lacrosse team took a 19-2 loss at Marquette on Saturday afternoon. Both BU goals were recorded in the first half of action. The loss moves Butler to 1-15 overall, Marquette moves to 5-11 with the win.
The first half belonged to Marquette 15-2. The Golden Eagles scored the first 13 goals of the game to take the lopsided advantage into the break.
Butler scored back-to-back goals in the final stages of the first half.
Rachel Kegler broke up the Marquette scoring spree with an unassisted goal at the 9:13 mark.
Journey Fischbeck would follow with a goal off a nice assist from
Taylor Kinn.
Scoring in the second half slowed down due to a running clock. Marquette won the final 30 minutes 4-0.
The 2017 regular season finale will be played next weekend, Saturday April 29 against Villanova. Action at Varsity Field will start at 12 PM.
