INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's soccer team recorded their fourth-straight victory with a 1-0 decision over Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs came up with their first, first half goal of the season to come out on top.
Butler climbed on top of the scoreboard with less than a minute to play in the opening half.
Alex Holmes sent the ball to
Brenna Pawelkowski with time running low. Pawelkowski sent a ball across the field to the left side where
Christy Chou was waiting. Chou collected possession and fired a shot past the keeper to the right side of the net.
The 'Dawgs outshot Cleveland State 16-7 and only needed to make one save on the day to post their fourth-straight shutout.
Hannah Luedtke once again got the start and this time took the win by keeping the Vikings off the scoreboard in the opening 45 minutes.
Leonie Doege faced a couple of good scoring chances in the closing stages of the game, but kept the game at 1-0. Doege made one stop.
Butler will return to action next week with a single match at Texas A&M. Kick-off in College Station is slated for 7 PM.
