PFL Release
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – The Pioneer Football League announced all-league selections on Tuesday afternoon. After a vote from the head coaches, WR
Pace Temple landed on the All-PFL First Team while teammates
Tommy Kennedy,
Mason Brunner,
Luke Sennett and
Drew Bevelhimer were selected to the second team.
Temple earned first team honors for the second-straight season after leading Butler in nearly every receiving category. He was one of four unanimous First Team All-PFL honorees, joined by Anthony Lawrence, Michael Bandy, and Tucker Yinger.
Temple ended his senior year with 85 catches, for 1,097 yards and nine touchdowns. He ranked second in the PFL in receptions per game (7.7) and fourth in the league in receiving yards per game (99.7).
Temple set single-season Butler school records in both receptions (85), and receiving yards (1,097). He is the only Bulldog to have multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career.
Back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons helped Temple break the school record in career receiving yards. He became Butler's all-time leader after a monster game at Jacksonville where he caught 12 passes for a career-high 196 yards. Temple's final game as a Bulldog was a memorable one with him catching 14 passes for 169 yards and two TD's at Davidson.
The senior ended his four-year career with 3,364 receiving yards to become just the seventh PFL player to reach 3,000. He also became just the second player in school history to catch more than 200 passes in his Bulldog career.
Second Team selections for Butler included OL
Tommy Kennedy, LB
Mason Brunner, S
Luke Sennett and K
Drew Bevelhimer.
Kennedy, a red-shirt junior from Lake Bluff, Ill., started in all 11 games for Butler at left tackle. He helped the Bulldogs rush for 1,500 yards as a team and kept QB
Will Marty upright for 19 passing touchdowns. Kennedy was part of an experienced offensive line that only allowed eight sacks over the final eight games of the season.
Brunner and Sennett highlighted the Butler defense in 2018 to earn All-PFL Second Team accolades. Sennett was the first Bulldog to reach 100+ tackles in a single-season since 2012. He posted a team-best 104 tackles in 2018 and was responsible for one of Butler's two interceptions this season. Sennett recorded a career-high 17 tackles at Jacksonville. He reached a double figure tackle total in five games and ranked second in the league in tackles per game (9.5).
Brunner finished third on the team with 73 total tackles. He made 8.5 tackles for loss and ranked second on the team with two sacks. Brunner ranked 13th in the PFL in tackles per game (6.6).
Brunner was also listed as a Second Team All-PFL special teamer along with
Drew Bevelhimer. Brunner was a long snapper for BU in 2018. He got the ball back to Bevelhimer who connected on eight of his nine field goal tries this season.
Bevelhimer missed his first attempt of the season, but would dial in and not miss the rest of the year. He went 3-for-3 from 20-29 yards, and 3-for-3 from 40-49 yards. His longest field goal of the season came from 44-yards out at Youngstown State to win the game.
Bobby Jensen,
Mickey Kane,
Carter Raleigh,
Dakota Sneed,
Brad Sznajder and
Ugo Udeogu were all honorable mention selections in 2018.
Butler ended the 2018 season with a 4-7 overall record that included a 2-6 mark against PFL opponents.
