After a weekend at the Friends of Jaclyn Invitational in Orlando, Fla. the Bulldogs are back in action this weekend, traveling to College Station, Texas to play five games.
Butler opens their weekend on Friday, taking on Iowa and host No. 6 Texas A&M. The team plays Iowa a second time on Saturday, while also facing off with Tulsa. Play concludes on Sunday against Texas A&M.
Jenna Foreman paces the Bulldogs, posting a .500 batting average at the Friends of Jaclyn Invitational. Foreman started all five games for the Bulldogs, tallying nine hits and scoring two runs. While posting a .500 slugging percentage, the junior also stole three bases. Against Louisville, Foreman went three for four and scored one run.
Outfielder
Alyssa Garcia had a strong showing at the Friends of Jaclyn Invitational. The sophomore finished the weekend with a .500 batting average and slugging percentage with four hits and two scored runs. Garcia posted an on base percentage of .556.
Sophomore
Christina Candotti started four games for the Bulldogs in their opening weekend, hitting .364 with four hits and one RBI. She also scored one run.
On the mound,
Gabbi Schnaiter threw a total of 12 innings at the Friends of Jaclyn Invitational, including a complete game shutout against North Florida. In her 12 innings of work, she only gave up two earned runs and posted an ERA of 1.17. The sophomore had four strikeouts and gave up only nine hits on the weekend.
Alyssa Graves started three games for the Bulldogs and threw 11.1 innings in the Bulldogs' opening weekend. She posted a 3.71 ERA and had nine strikeouts. Against Louisville, she only gave up four hits and had seven strikeouts, with one earned run.
