Butler ran its winning streak to four games with a 7-3 win over UIC Thursday afternoon in Chicago. The Bulldogs scored runs in five of the seven innings and Kaitlin Doud picked up the complete game win in the circle.

With the result, Butler is now 17-21 on the season; UIC stands at 20-16.

Freshman Claire Gilliland homered for the second consecutive game. Those are her two home runs on the season. Gilliland's two-run homer was part of a three-run seventh that gave Butler a 7-2 lead with three UIC outs remaining.

Sarah Dixon led off the seventh with a solo home run. It was her first of the season. She had two hits and two RBIs in the contest.

Single runs in the first and second innings gave Butler a 2-0 lead before UIC tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the third. Butler re-took the lead with a fourth-inning run.

Doud was able to scatter 11 UIC hits, allowing only two earned runs (three total). Doud is now 8-5 on the season.

Jenna Foreman had three of the Bulldogs' 10 hits.

The Bulldogs will take a four-game winning streak into a weekend BIG EAST series with Providence. Saturday includes a doubleheader that begins at Noon with the team's seniors being recognized on their final home weekend contest.
