The Butler softball takes their four-game winning streak into the weekend, hosting Providence in its final home weekend this season. The Bulldogs will recognize their four seniors –
Ambry Turpen,
Alyssa Lach,
Sarah Dixon, and
Mikeila Boroff during the doubleheader on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (17-21, 5-4 BIG EAST) are coming off two mid-week wins against Ball State and UIC. Freshman
Claire Gilliland has homered in two straight games for Butler while senior
Sarah Dixon hit her first homerun of the season against UIC.
Kaitlin Doud (8-5) and
Alyssa Graves (8-9) received the wins in the circle against UIC and Ball State, respectively.
The Friars (10-24, 4-7 BIG EAST) were swept by Villanova last weekend but posted a 9-3 home win against Brown on Tuesday. Julianne Rurka leads Providence with a .345 batting average while Miranda Trinidad has the lowest ERA on the team (2.92).
First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for Noon. The Bulldogs and Friars will finish the three-game series with a single game on Sunday, also beginning at Noon. Live stats for the weekend can be found
