Kamar Baldwin - at Creighton

Men's Basketball John Dedman

@ButlerMBB Falls at Creighton, 75-61

Box Score
Kamar Baldwin's 23 points were not enough to overcome Creighton Friday night in Omaha as the host Bluejays took a 75-61 win.

With the win, Creighton improves to 13-8, 3-4 in BIG EAST play, while Butler falls to 12-9 (3-5 in conference play).

Creighton put four players in double figures, led by 19 from Ty-Shon Alexander, in winning its annual Pink-Out game to promote cancer awareness.

"In the first half, I thought we did some good things, but left points on the table," said Butler coach LaVall Jordan. "Creighton picked up the energy in the second half and made it harder for us to get good looks."

Creighton shot 50 percent from the field, including 56 percent in the opening 20 minutes to take a 40-34 halftime advantage.

Butler was unable to overcome that first half deficit due to 31-percent shooting in the second half. The Bulldogs were only 5-of-22 from behind the arc in the game.

Two Jordan Tucker free throws pulled the Bulldogs within five at 64-59 with 3:23 to play, but the Bulldogs were only able to score two more points down the stretch as Creighton secured the win.

Baldwin made eight of his 12 attempts from the field in posting 23 points.

Creighton had a 40-29 advantage on the glass, which helped to overcome 18 turnovers by the Bluejays.

The Bulldogs return to Hinkle Fieldhouse for a Wednesday night match-up with nationally-ranked Marquette. A limited number of tickets remain for the contest, which is the annual Project 44 Game in honor of the late Andrew Smith and the organization created to promote the Be The Match bone marrow registry.
