The Bulldogs capped off another strong weekend in Bloomington, with a first place finish and multiple personal bests. The IU Relays were highlighted by a win in the heptathlon by
Wade Walder.
Competing in his first heptathlon of the season, Walder took the top spot with 5067 points. The junior finished with a personal best in the 60-meter dash (7.18) and the long jump (6.69 (21'11")).
Matthew Bigelow of Southern Illinois took the second spot with 4919. Bulldog
Richard Clark took the third spot in a personal best 4787 points, including a win in the heptathlon 60-meter dash with a time of 7.09.
Jacob Uhl won his section of the 400 meters, finishing in 49.11 for fifth overall. Teammate
Allie Vogeler took second in the 400 meters with a time of 56.44, finishing just .08 seconds behind the top finisher. In the mile,
Angelina Ellis took third overall with a time of 4:52.01. That time is good for ninth in school history.
Freshman
Trey Harris ran a personal best 1:54.28 in the 800 meters, good for ninth overall.
Euan Makepeace finished seventh in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:19.81.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Feb. 1, competing in the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
