The Bulldogs continue BIG EAST play Wednesday night, traveling to Newark, N.J., for an 8:30 p.m. game with Seton Hall.

The game will air on FS1. Brian Custer will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Jim Spanarkel. The Butler duo of Mark Minner and Nick Gardner will have the radio call on 93.1FM and the TuneIn Radio app.

Butler enters the game with a 10-5 (1-1 BIG EAST) record after defeating Creighton in the team's most recent outing Saturday. Seton Hall, which is receiving votes in both national polls, is 11-4 on the season and 2-1 in BIG EAST play. The Bulldogs will host the Pirates at Hinkle Fieldhouse Feb. 2 in the back end of the season series.

ROAD TRIP: Butler's game at Seton Hall Wednesday begins a three-game road swing for the Bulldogs, who will follow the trip to Newark with games at Xavier (Sunday) and at DePaul (Jan. 16). This is the first three-game conference road trip for the Bulldogs since Butler's inaugural season in the BIG EAST (2013-14). That three-game stretch began with a Jan. 29, 2014 win at Seton Hall, which also served as the first meeting between the two programs.

THE SERIES: In a series that dates back only six seasons since they became BIG EAST rivals, Butler holds an 8-4 mark against Seton Hall. That includes a 4-1 record in Newark.

LAST SEASON: Seton Hall took both regular season match-ups during the 2017-18 campaign before the Bulldogs got revenge in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament. The Pirates won 90-87 in Indianapolis Jan. 6 and 77-70 in the regular season finale March 3 in Newark. In the March 8 tournament game at Madison Square Garden, Butler's Kamar Baldwin scored a career-best 32 points and the Bulldogs pulled out a 75-74 win on Tyler Wideman's put-back in the closing seconds. Butler overcame a 14-point first-half deficit in that game.

KAMAR-VELOUS AFTERNOON: Behind a season-best 28 points from junior guard Kamar Baldwin, the Bulldogs leveled their BIG EAST record at 1-1 with an 84-69 win over Creighton Saturday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse. He tied his career-high with seven assists, adding five rebounds and two steals. Baldwin made 11 of his 18 attempts from the field. Baldwin earned a spot on the five-member BIG EAST honor roll for his performances last week.

Baldwin has climbed to No. 31 on Butler's career scoring list with 1,141 points. The next two Bulldogs to pass are two of the program's Academic All-Americans, Chris Miskel (1,170) and the late Andrew Smith (1,147).

TWIN TOWERS: Nate Fowler, coming off the bench for the first time this season, scored 11 points in the win over Creighton Saturday. That included tying his career-high with three three-pointers. The 11 points were a season-high for the 6-10 senior. Joey Brunk, making the first start of the 6-11 redshirt sophomore's Butler career, had 13 points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Henry Baddley also made the first start of his Butler career in Saturday's win. He posted five points and six rebounds in a career-best 31 minutes.

GETTING DEFENSIVE: Butler's defense limited Creighton to seven three-pointers on 26-percent shooting from long range Saturday. The Bluejays entered the contest third nationally in three-point percentage (.448) and fourth nationally in three-pointers made per game (12.1).

Butler is allowing opponents only an average of 66.1 points per game this season, a mark that is second in the BIG EAST. Only four of Butler's 15 opponents this season have eclipsed 70 points.

MIGHT BE A FELONY: Butler tied a season-high with 12 steals in Saturday's win over Creighton. Eight different Bulldogs had at least one steal. The Bulldogs converted 15 Creighton turnovers into 25 points.

PROTECTING THE ROCK: With only nine turnovers Saturday against Creighton, Butler is now averaging 10.7 miscues per game, which leads the BIG EAST and is top 20 nationally. Saturday's game was the fourth time this season that Butler has committed single-digit turnovers. In two separate games this season, Butler has posted a season-low seven miscues.

HELPING HAND: Sophomore Aaron Thompson has registered seven or more assists in four games this season. Thompson handed out a career-high nine assists as part of Butler's 27-assist performance against Northern Illinois Dec. 8. Thompson is third in the BIG EAST in assists (4.4) and fourth in assist/turnover ratio (2.1).

Thompson led the Bulldogs to a 76-67 win over Presbyterian Dec. 18 with a career-high 18 points, making eight of his 10 attempts from the field.

ALL-AROUND GOOD GUY: Kamar Baldwin is among the BIG EAST Top 10 in scoring, assists, steals, free throw shooting, and minutes. He also stands in the Top 20 in rebounding.

Baldwin has posted four or more assists in 11 games this season. In 10 games, he has registered both at least four rebounds and four assists.

BEHIND THE ARC: Butler made 11 three-pointers Saturday against Creighton, the most by the Bulldogs since hitting 17 Dec. 8 in a win over Northern Illinois. The Bulldogs shot 53 percent (9-17) from three-point range against UC Irvine Dec. 21, the fifth time this season that Butler has shot 40 percent or better from behind the arc.

BOARD WORK: Sean McDermott pulled down a season-high eight rebounds in Saturday's win over Creighton. It came one game after Kamar Baldwin (nine), Jordan Tucker (eight) and Nate Fowler (seven, all offensive) all set season-best rebounding numbers in the loss to Georgetown.

POINT-BRUNK RANGE: On the season, Joey Brunk's .687 field goal percentage is second in the BIG EAST. Including his 13 points in the last outing vs. Creighton, seven of Brunk's eight career double-digit scoring performances have come this season. Brunk has posted 7-of-7 (vs. Miami Nov. 10) and 6-of-6 (vs. Northern Illinois Dec. 8) performances already in 2018-19.

'BADDLEY' NEEDED: Junior Henry Baddley came off the bench Wednesday against Georgetown to score 14 points for the Bulldogs on 5-of-8 shooting. It was a season-high for Baddley and tied the second-best output of his Butler career (which was 14 points vs. Seton Hall Jan. 6, 2018).

ACCEPTING YOUR CHARITY: Butler used a 20-of-23 performance at the free throw line (87 percent) Dec. 21 to beat UC Irvine. On the season, the Bulldogs are shooting 74 percent on free throws. That leads the BIG EAST and is in the Top 50 nationally. Butler made all 18 of its second-half free throw attempts in solidifying the win over Ole Miss Nov. 16. For the game, Butler went 23-of-27 (85 percent). Baldwin was a perfect 12-of-12 on the night.

NOT A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT: Including the win over UC Irvine Dec. 21, Butler has now won 50 consecutive home games against non-conference foes. The streak dates back to a loss to Pittsburgh in the 2012 College Basketball Invitational (CBI). That current streak now trails only Duke nationally. Opponents who have fallen victim at Hinkle Fieldhouse during the streak include Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Northwestern (twice), Utah, Princeton (twice), Saint Louis, Chattanooga, Belmont, and Vermont.

Overall, the Bulldogs are 8-1 at Hinkle Fieldhouse this season, averaging 81.0 points per game.
