The Bulldogs are in the lead after the opening 18 holes of the Dayton Fall Invitational. Butler will take a one-shot advantage into the final 18 holes Tuesday morning.
Fourteen teams comprise the field. Butler shot a 20-over 300 Monday, which gives them a one-shot lead over Illinois State (301). The University of Findlay and Cleveland State are tied for third at 305 (+25).
The Bulldogs were led by
Ally Ross and
Claire Edwards, who each fired a three-over 73 Monday. They are tied for third. Dayton's Ellie Cronin has the individual lead after an opening-round 70 (E).
Edwards and Ross each had a pair of birdies as part of their respective rounds on the 5,800-yard NCR Country Club north course in Kettering, Ohio.
Megan Skoog is tied for 13
th after a six-over 76 Monday. Reigning BIG EAST Golfer of the Week
Katelyn Le shot 78 (+8) and is tied for 23
rd. Senior
Janisa Bondoc rounds out Butler's scoring five in a tie for 30
th after a nine-over 79.
Freshman
Avery VonDielingen, playing as an individual, shot 85 (+15) and is tied for 62
nd.
