INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs will play three of their final four matches of the 2019 regular season inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. That stretch will start on Friday night with BU hosting Providence at 6 PM. #14 Creighton will follow on Sunday with a 1 PM match.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE: The Friars are 6-21 overall with one BIG EAST win under their belt. They swept Seton Hall on Nov. 1 to record their first win of the season since Sept. 14. Addison Root and Jennifer Leitman are the top two talents on the roster. Each student-athlete has over 200 kills this season. Setting up the attack will be Allison Barber, a two-way player that also leads Providence with 294 digs and 29 service aces. At the net, Jenae Alderson is the team leader in blocks with 64.
Addison Root recorded 14 kills in the first meeting vs. Butler. Allison Barber was in the box score with a double-double after posting 33 assists and 13 digs.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. PROVIDENCE: Butler is 12-0 all-time vs. Providence. The Friars won the second set in Alumni Hall earlier this season.
Providence has only won three sets vs. Butler.
SCOUTING #14 CREIGHTON: The Bluejays were swept by Villanova over the weekend to move their overall record to 20-4. That loss moved them to #14 in the AVCA National Poll. Three Bluejays have over 200 kills this season, but the team leader in that category is freshman Keeley Davis. Davis ranks fifth in the conference in kills per set (3.18) and sixth in points.
Creighton hit .314 as a team vs. BU. Megan Ballenger led the club with 10 kills. Madelyn Cole nearly registered a double-double with 37 assists and nine digs.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CREIGHTON: Butler has just one win over Creighton in 13 tries. The 'Dawgs won 3-1 in 2013 when Creighton was ranked #22 in the nation.
Butler ended the 2013 season 24-8 overall and 11-5 in the BIG EAST standings. They made the conference tournament field in their inaugural BIG EAST season.
NCAA ACTIVE CAREER LEADERS: Anna Logan ranks 19th in the country in career kills with 1,454. The only other BIG EAST player listed in the Top-20 is Marquette's Allie Barber. She ranks seventh with 1,733.
ELIZABETH IS EVERYWHERE: Elizabeth LaBue ranks 44th in the NCAA in total digs with 478. She is averaging 4.78 digs per set, which ranks third in the league and 53rd in the NCAA.
Elizabeth LaBue was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks (10/22, 10/29).
DAVIDSON PROVIDES DEFENSE: Melody Davidson has 117 total blocks in 2019. She leads the conference in that category and ranks 34th in the country.
SENIOR LEADERSHIP: Anna Logan (323) and
Brooke Gregory (319) rank first and second on the team in points scored this season. Those two combined have scored 2,840 points at Butler during their standout careers.

Logan and Gregory are seniors that have impacted games from since their freshmen seasons. Logan has played in 434 sets at BU. Gregory has been involved in 405.
TOURNAMENT TALK: The top four teams in the conference standings make up the tournament field in Milwaukee over Thanksgiving weekend. Marquette and Creighton are tied at the top with identical 13-1 BIG EAST records. Creighton won 3-2 at Marquette on Oct. 12. The rematch is set for Nov. 22 in DJ Sokol Arena. Villanova upset Creighton to reach 20 total wins and take firm control of the third place in the conference standings. Right now, the fourth team would be the St. John's Red Storm. They hold a 9-5 record, Butler is close behind at 8-6 and the Xavier Musketeers are in the hunt at 7-7.
Butler's last trip to the BIG EAST Tournament was in 2017 (L, 3-1 at Marquette)
UP NEXT: The final weekend of the 2019 regular season will be a unique one. Butler will play at Xavier on Nov. 22 at 7 PM. The very next day they will host the Musketeers at 6 PM.
Xavier swept Butler last year, taking a 3-1 win at Hinkle and a 3-0 victory on their home court. Butler won each meeting during the 2017 season.
