THE SERIES: Butler and Wofford have never met as men's basketball opponents. Butler is 8-2 all-time against current members of the Southern Conference. Both losses were to Mercer. One of the victories came against The Citadel in the 2015-16 season opener, a program-record 144-71 win.

• Butler has won 53 consecutive non-conference home games (second-longest active streak nationally behind Duke)
• After being limited due to a rib cartilage injury in his first two games, Kamar Baldwin scored 27 points in the win over Minnesota.
• Minnesota led Butler for a total of 2:29 Tuesday night, the Bulldogs' only deficit in 120 minutes this season.
• Butler has limited its first three opponents to an average of 52 points per game, which is 12th nationally.
• Butler had a 25-2 advantage on points off turnovers vs. Minnesota.
Aaron Thompson leads the BIG EAST (and is 15th nationally) at 7.3 assists per game.
• Butler is fifth nationally, committing only 8.0 turnovers per game.
• Baldwin is up to No. 15 on Butler's all-time scoring list with 1,487 career points.
Bryce Nze had double-doubles in his two career games as a Bulldog.
Sean McDermott (at 66.7 percent) is tied for the BIG EAST lead and 10th nationally in three-point percentage.
• McDermott led Butler with 26 points (10-11 FG; 4-5 3FG) in the Nov. 6 win over IUPUI, one point shy of his career-high.
• In Bryce Golden's first career start, he posted career-highs of 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists vs. IUPUI.
• Butler finished the game against IUPUI with only six available players.
• The Bulldogs return four of their top six scorers from 2018-19.
• Butler posted a 12-4 record at Hinkle Fieldhouse in 2018-19.
• Twenty-five of Butler's 31 regular season games in 2019-20 are scheduled against power conference opponents.
• Butler has made the postseason in 13 of the last 14 seasons.
• Thompson's 142 assists in 2018-19 are 10th on Butler's single-season list.

PUTTING THE D IN DAWGS: Butler has limited its first three opponents to an average of 52 points per game. That mark is 12th nationally. Those three opponents are shooting 38 percent from the field and 26 percent from three-point range.

TIGHT GRIP: Butler has opened the season with three consecutive single-digit turnover games, including a season-low six in the Nov. 9 win over New Orleans. The Bulldogs are fifth nationally, committing only 8.0 turnovers per game.

Butler's +8.0 turnover margin ranks in the Top 25 nationally. In Tuesday's win over Minnesota, the Bulldogs turned 18 Golden Gophers into 25 points. Minnesota scored only two points off nine Butler miscues.

DIFFERENT FORMULA FOR SUCCESS:
Butler defeated Minnesota Tuesday night despite a 3-of-14 performance from behind the arc. A season ago, Butler hit at least seven three-pointers in each of its wins. The Bulldogs hit six three-pointers in the season-opening win over IUPUI Nov. 6.

DOUBLE THE DOUBLE: Both Bryce Nze and Aaron Thompson posted double-doubles in Saturday's win over New Orleans. Nze led the Bulldogs with 18 points to go along with his 10 rebounds. Thompson scored 12 points – all in the first half – and added 10 assists. For Thompson, it was his second career double-double, with his first coming in the 2019 NIT at Nebraska.

Nze posted double-doubles in his first two games as a Bulldog. He had 11 points and 11 rebounds in the season-opening win over IUPUI Wednesday night.

DEFINITION OF EFFICIENCY: Senior Sean McDermott made 10 of his 11 attempts from the field, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc, on his way to 26 points in the season-opening win over IUPUI Nov. 6. It was one point shy of his career-high.

THAT'S GOLD, BRYCE. GOLD.: Sophomore Bryce Golden logged his first career start in Wednesday's win over IUPUI, posting career-highs of 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. He had 25 points and 11 rebounds total in 15 contests as a freshman.

MY TEAM IS ON THE FLOOR: Butler began its regular season opener vs. IUPUI with eight available players (but hoping to keep John-Michael Mulloy's redshirt opportunity available). After Kamar Baldwin and Campbell Donovan were injured within the first five minutes of the contest, the Bulldogs utilized Mulloy and played six players for the final 35 minutes.

Henry Baddley (illness) and Jordan Tucker (one-game NCAA suspension) were able to return to active duty vs. New Orleans Nov. 9. Baldwin played 35 minutes vs. Minnesota Tuesday, as Christian David (illness) also saw his first action of the season.

Donovan is out for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee, sustained in the IUPUI game Nov. 6. Derrik Smits (knee) and Markeese Hastings (offseason hip surgery) have yet to play during the regular season.

WATCH OUT FOR HIM: Senior guard Kamar Baldwin has found his way onto the watch lists for several national awards: the Naismith Trophy Men's Player of the Year, the Wooden Award, and the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award.

The conference's head coaches also selected Baldwin to the 2019-20 Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team.

NOT MESSING AROUND:
Eighteen of Butler's 31 regular season games are against teams ranked or receiving votes in the preseason AP Top 25 poll. Of the remaining 13 games, five (potentially six) are against teams that made the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

A season ago, Butler played 13 games against 2019 NCAA Tournament teams and another 11 against teams in the 2019 NIT field.

90+ YEARS YOUNG: Over the summer, a $10.5 million second phase of renovations to Hinkle Fieldhouse took place. Air-conditioning was added to the main arena and concourses. The program's practice facility, the Efroymson Family Gym, had a complete makeover, including the installation of the new Matt White Court, named in honor of the standout member of Butler's track and cross country teams during his years at Butler. White passed away in February, 2019 after a 19-year battle with ALS.

When the Fieldhouse was originally constructed in 1928, it was the largest basketball arena in the United States (15,000 seats), and it retained that distinction for more than 20 years.  The current capacity is 9,100.  The Fieldhouse was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

SMART DAWGS: The Bulldogs earned the NABC's Team Academic Excellence Award for achieving a team cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. Butler has earned the recognition in four consecutive seasons. In 2018-19, only 36 Division I programs posted a GPA of 3.0 or better.
