INDIANAPOLIS – Butler's final two matches of the regular season will come against rival Xavier this weekend. The first match will stream on BEDN this Friday night at 7 PM. The following day BU will host the Musketeers as part of Senior Day. Arrive early to see pre-match activities for the 2019 Senior Class that includes

- 4.76 digs per set is the third-highest average in school history in a single-season.

SCOUTING XAVIER: The Musketeers are one game behind Butler in the BIG EAST standings with an 8-8 record. Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger has a balanced roster with five student-athletes reaching 200 or more points this season. Lauren Hanlon is the top option at the net. She leads Xavier with 243 total kills (2.56 k/s). The Musketeers use two setters in Carrigan O'Reilly and Ailsa Watson. Watson also has the top serve on the team with 21 aces. Jayda Carlton leads the league in blocks per set (1.22) and Madi Kutruff leads the team in digs with 385.
Xavier is just 1-11 this season in three-set matches, but 4-1 when the match enters a fifth set.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. XAVIER: Butler trails Xavier in the all-time series 21-14. The Musketeers swept Butler a year ago, winning 3-1 at home and 3-0 at the Cintas Center. BU swept Xavier in 2017 with a 3-1 win on the road and a 3-0 sweep later that season inside Hinkle Fieldhouse.
NCAA ACTIVE CAREER LEADERS: Anna Logan ranks 19th in the country in career kills with 1,479. The only other BIG EAST player listed in the Top-20 is Marquette's Allie Barber. She ranks fifth with 1,776.
ELIZABETH IS EVERYWHERE: Elizabeth LaBue ranks 42nd in the NCAA in total digs with 519. LaBue is just the sixth player in program history to reach 500+ digs in a single-season.
Elizabeth LaBue was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks (10/22, 10/29).
SENIOR LEADERSHIP: Anna Logan (345.5) and
Brooke Gregory (341.5) rank first and second on the team in points scored this season. Those two combined have scored 2,884 points at Butler during their standout careers.
109 SETS: Anna Logan,
Brooke Gregory,
Melody Davidson and
Elizabeth LaBue have played in all 109 sets this season.
Logan and Gregory are seniors that have impacted games from since their freshmen seasons. Logan has played in 440 sets at BU. Gregory has been involved in 411.
2019 SEASON BREAKDOWN: Butler has five wins in three-set matches, three wins in four-sets and four wins in five-set matches. They picked up six wins at home, four on the road and two on a neutral court.
Butler has not lost back-to-back matches since Sept. 25.
NO SOPHMORE SLUMP: Melody Davidson leads the team with a .271 attack percentage. She ranks third on the team with 199 kills, recording 107 more in 2019 than she did in '18.
BLOCKING BUDDIES: Melody Davidson (129) and
Brooke Gregory (104) have each topped 100 blocks this season. Since joining the BIG EAST in 2013, Butler has had at least two players reach 100+ blocks five times.

Anna Logan leads Butler with 26 service aces while teammate
Elizabeth LaBue is close behind with 25. Logan has recorded 20+ aces in all four of her seasons at Butler, giving her 105 total. LaBue has 39 over her first two seasons.
Xavier ranks last in service aces per set (0.91). They are the only team in the BIG EAST with less than 100 total in 2019 (88).
UP NEXT: The Bulldogs are trying to make a push for a spot in the upcoming BIG EAST Conference Tournament. The top four teams in the standings make up the tournament field. Heading into the final two matches of the regular season, only Marquette and Creighton are locks for the postseason. Villanova and St. John's would hold the other two spots if the tournament were to start this weekend. Butler needs to sweep Xavier to reach 11 conference wins which would tie Villanova and St. John's. One win by either of those programs will end the Butler volleyball season.
