KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Butler's Annika Schmidt was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-North/Central Region First Team on Monday. The senior defender holds a 3.98 GPA as a sports media major.
 
Schmidt helped led the Bulldog's post a 10-5-4 record in 2019. She was part of a defensive unit that posted nine shutouts over 19 games. She scored a goal early in the year vs. IUPUI and again at Wisconsin.
 
Schmidt is a three-time All-BIG EAST first team selection, has two CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades and is a 2019 CoSIDA All-America third team honoree. Earlier this month, Schmidt was also tabbed United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region.
