The Bulldogs embark on the second weekend of the 2019 season, traveling to Clearwater, Fla., for the Madeira Beach Invitational. Butler will play five games over the weekend.
 
The weekend begins with contests against Delaware and Murray State on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs will continue Saturday morning versus George Mason, followed by a tilt with Holy Cross. They will close out the tournament in a game against Drexel on Sunday morning.
 
Butler enters with a 2-3 record after its opening weekend at the Total Control Sports Invitational in Rosemont, Ill. The Bulldogs picked up wins over IUPUI and Evansville at the indoor event.
 
Sophomore Alyssa Graves earned a spot on the BIG EAST five-player weekly honor roll for his performance in Rosemont. She started for the Bulldogs in their two victories. Graves gave up only four runs and 12 hits in 12 total innings of service, finishing the weekend with a 2.33 ERA.
 
Senior Jenna Foreman led the offensive charge, batting .500 in the five games. Foreman had 10 hits in her 20 at-bats. She scored six runs and drove in two teammates. Foreman also swiped two bases. Classmate Kaitlin Doud led Butler with six RBI. She hit .333. Freshman Karli Ricketts drove in four runs and added a pair of doubles.
 
The win over Evansville Saturday was No. 200 for Butler coach Scott Hall during his time with the Bulldogs.
 
Following the weekend in Clearwater, the Bulldogs will return to Indianapolis for a few days. The team next ventures out to Bowling Green, Ky., for the Western Kentucky-hosted Hilltopper Classic next weekend. Butler's first home contest is slated for March 20 when Miami (Ohio) visits.
