The Bulldogs are off and running with their spring season, as Butler completed the opening round of the Kiawah Island Spring Classic Sunday.
Butler's round was played at Oak Point in South Carolina. Thirty-six holes remain over the next two days.
Senior
Lauren Tibbets led the Bulldogs with a four-over 76. She is tied for 91
st.
Megan Skoog is one shot behind Tibbets, firing a 77 (+5) Sunday. Butler's contingent included
Katelyn Le (79),
Ally Ross (81), and
Allison Kinsinger (84).
Tibbets and Skoog shared the team-lead with 12 pars in Sunday's round. Le had five birdies among her 18 holes, but only had three pars.
Lehigh's Reagan Jahn holds the individual lead at 68 (-4).
As a team, the Bulldogs shot a 25-over 313. That is tied for 36
th in the large field. Coastal Carolina leads the team competition at 286 (-2).
With all 49 teams playing separate rounds at both courses, the Bulldogs will play the Osprey Point Golf Club Monday. All five Bulldogs tee off at 1:30 p.m. Live scoring is available via Golfstat.com.
After 36 holes of play, the top 24 teams will play for the championship at Osprey Point during the final round Tuesday, while teams 25-48 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point.
