Box Score
Butler dropped a 4-0 decision at Miami (Ohio) Wednesday afternoon in the Bulldogs' final tune-up prior to BIG EAST play beginning this weekend.

With the win, Miami is now 13-10 on the season; Butler falls to 9-17.

Miami took the early lead with single runs in the first and second innings before putting two on the board in the bottom of the fourth for the final margin.

The Bulldogs only mustered two hits on the afternoon, a double by sophomore Claire Gilliland and a single by senior Sammy Anderson.

Three Redhawks split duty in the circle.

Freshman Karli Ricketts got the start for the Bulldogs, allowing all four runs (three earned) in her 3.1 innings of work. Kaitlin Doud came on in relief, pitching a scoreless 2.2 innings.

Butler opens the home portion of its season Saturday, welcoming DePaul to Indianapolis for a three-game weekend series. That series doubles as the BIG EAST opener for both teams.
