Lauren Tibbets has paced the Butler effort through 36 holes of the 2019 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship in Callawassie Island, S.C.
Tibbets shot a two-over 74 Saturday to move into ninth place at 11-over. Tibbets' card for the second round included three birdies. Tibbets shot 81 in the first round, which was suspended Friday and completed Saturday morning. Tibbets climbed eight spots on the leaderboard with Saturday's round.
Katelyn Le shot 79 Saturday, following up her round of 84 in the first round. She is tied for 19
th at 163 (+19).
The Bulldogs shot 326 as a team Saturday, which was a 12-stroke improvement over the team's first round performance. Butler is at 664 (+88) through 36 holes, in sixth place.
Xavier's Mikayla Fitzpatrick has the individual lead (-1). She is four shots better than Seton Hall's Elizabeth Winn entering Sunday's final round. Fitzpatrick shot a four-under 68 Saturday, the best round of the tournament thus far.
Megan Skoog (+28),
Claire Edwards (+31), and
Ally Ross (+32) round out the Butler five after 36 holes.
Xavier has the team lead (604) and a seven-shot lead over Georgetown (611). Seton Hall (614), Creighton (642), St. John's (647), and Butler (664) comprise the leaderboard.
The final 18 holes are scheduled for Sunday at Callawassie Island. The first players are due to tee off at 8 a.m.
