Lauren Tibbets and
Katelyn Le tied for 18
th at the 2019 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship, held over the last three days on Callawassie Island, S.C.
Tibbets and Le finished the event at 23-over 239. Le shot an impressive 76 (+4) Sunday for her best round of the tournament. Le shot 84 and 79 over the first two days of the event.
Tibbets' tournament included rounds of 81, 74, and an 84 on Sunday.
Claire Edwards,
Megan Skoog, and
Ally Ross each shot their best round of the tournament on Sunday, posting scores of 83, 84, and 84, respectively.
Skoog (+40), Edwards (+42), and Ross (+44) rounded out Butler's five in the 28
th through 30
th spots on the leaderboard.
Xavier's Mikayla Fitzpatrick took medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 216 (E). She defeated Seton Hall's Elizabeth Win by nine shots.
Xavier also took the team title at 38-over 902. Georgetown finished second (916; +52), followed by Seton Hall, St. John's, Creighton, and Butler.
The Bulldogs finished with a team total of 991 after rounds of 338 Friday, 326 in the second round, and 327 Friday.
For Tibbets, this is her last competition as a Butler Bulldog. The 2017 BIG EAST champion and 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-American (second team) has led the Bulldogs in scoring average in each of her four seasons in Indianapolis.
The 2019 BIG EAST Championship concludes the 2018-19 season for the team.
