Draft Diamonds Prospect Interview
INDIANAPOLIS – Former Butler wide receiver
Pace Temple has been invited to the Chicago Bears rookie minicamp. The three-day event will be held from May 3-5 and include draft picks, undrafted free agents and tryout players.
Temple set single-season Butler school records during his senior year in receptions (85) and receiving yards (1,097). He left campus as the only Bulldog to have multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career.
Back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons helped Temple break the school record in career receiving yards. He became Butler's all-time leader after a monster game at Jacksonville where he caught 12 passes for a career-high 196 yards. Temple's final game as a Bulldog was a memorable one with him catching 14 passes for 169 yards and two TD's at Davidson.
The senior ended his four-year career with 3,364 receiving yards to become just the seventh PFL player to reach 3,000. He also became just the second player in school history to catch more than 200 passes in his Bulldog career.
Important Dates – Chicago Bears
ROOKIE MINICAMP: MAY 3-5
The Bears will host a three-day minicamp May 3-5, which includes draft picks, undrafted free agents and a slew of tryout players.
ORGANIZED TEAM ACTIVITIES: MAY 21-23, MAY 29-31, JUNE 4-7
The Bears will begin voluntary spring practices in late May. They are allowed 10 organized team activities during the three week window, which the Bears have slotted for May 21-23, May 29-31 and June 4-7. During these sessions, players and coaches are allowed on the field for non-contact team drills. They can participate in 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
MANDATORY MINICAMP: JUNE 11-13
The Bears will hold their mandatory minicamp in mid-June, which requires all players to be in attendance. Mandatory minicamp occurs during Phase Three of the offseason program, which means that again players and coaches are allowed on the field for non-contact team drills and 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. This will conclude the offseason program and players will have off until training camp begins in late July.
TRAINING CAMP: LATE JULY
The Bears will kickoff the 2019 NFL season with preseason training camp in late July. Typically, Bears players report to Bourbonnais on a Wednesday or Thursday in late July (15 days before their first preseason game). While Nagy's first season had the Bears playing in the Hall of Fame Game, which required the Bears to report a week earlier to camp, Chicago should arrive in Bourbonnais around July 24. Over the last two summers, the Bears had rookies report to camp a week before veterans.
