The Bulldogs wrapped up an undefeated week Saturday evening, taking a 4-2 win over UIC in Indianapolis. Butler once again rallied after losing the doubles point to take four singles wins and the match.
UIC clinched the doubles point with a win at the No. 3 court over
Thomas Brennan and
Spencer Lang. The No. 2 court was the first court to finish as Johan Hedstrom and Kasper Parlklo defeated
Ryan Roegner and
Michael Dickson, 6-1.
Adrian Mag and
Aviv Ben Shabat were Butler's successful pair, beating William Wale and Niko Wasilewicz, 6-3.
Heading into singles play, Ben Shabat got the Bulldogs started with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Parlklo. UIC answered at the No. 3 court as Anthony Nguyen defeated Mag, 6-4, 6-1.
With UIC leading 2-1, the Bulldogs won three straight singles matches in order to clinch the match.
Michael Dickson took a win at the No. 4 court over Pelle Strandberg, 6-4, 7-5 to even the score. Roegner then took down de la Fuente 6-1, 6-1 to put the Bulldogs up by one.
Brennan clinched the match in the No. 1 spot, taking the third set, 6-3, after winning the first set and falling in the second set.
The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season with two home BIG EAST matches, hosting Marquette on April 13 and DePaul on April 14.
