For the second consecutive season, Butler golfer Lauren Tibbets has earned Google Cloud Academic All-America® honors as a member of the Division I Women's At-Large team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). Tibbets earned second-team honors, just as she did in 2018.
 
The awards recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.
 
CoSIDA announced the teams June 21.
 
Tibbets, who graduated in May with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in actuarial science, is one of 12 repeat honorees from last year's Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I At-Large teams.
 
Tibbets recorded Top 10 finishes in six of Butler's 12 tournaments this season, including wins at the Butler Fall Invitational and the Big Four Classic at Crooked Stick. She led the team with a scoring average of 76.2 over 27 rounds. As a sophomore, she won the 2017 BIG EAST individual title.
 
Forty-two (42) of the 45 members of the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women's At-Large teams achieved at least a 3.90 GPA, with 33 student-athletes posting a 4.00 GPA (or better) during their undergraduate and/or graduate careers. All 15 members of the first team posted at least a 4.00 GPA, with their average GPA at 4.03.
 
The at-large teams for the Google Cloud Academic All-America® program include the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo for both men and women, as well as beach volleyball, bowling, field hockey and rowing for women, and volleyball and wrestling for men.
