The Bulldogs suffered their first setback of the 2020 season, falling 5-2 to host Western Michigan Sunday morning.

The Broncos took an early 2-0 lead by winning the doubles point and the fifth singles court before Butler was able to knot the match at 2-2.

For the second day in a row, Thomas Brennan posted a win for the Bulldogs at the No. 1 singles spot. He defeated WMU's Jannik Opitz in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

Drew Michael, playing on the sixth court, also picked up his second singles win of the weekend with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Arjun Honnappa.

The Broncos were ultimately able to take the team result by winning the final three matches of the day, two of which came in third sets.

Butler returns to action Monday, Jan. 20 with a pair of matches in St. Louis. The Bulldogs will play both Saint Louis and Washington University.
