The Butler women's lacrosse program returns 35 players from the 2019 roster. Of those returning, nearly half (14) are midfielders. This group of experienced players will be key in contributing on both sides of the ball for the Bulldogs.
"We have several solid midfielders this season that should create a lot of depth," said head coach
Cecil C. Pilson. "From our draw team to our offensive and defensive midfielders, we are excited to see them in action this weekend."
Efficient Dawgs
In 2019, Butler posted a .769 shots on goal percentage, compared to opponents .766. The Dawgs also posted five games with at least 10 goals, winning three of those contests.
Returning midfielders accounted for 51 of the Bulldogs 117 goals last season, meaning Butler's roster maintains nearly 50 percent of their scoring offense.
The midfield position also notched a combined 55 caused turnovers, helping Butler finish third overall in the BIG EAST in caused turnovers per game (9.71).
