Kamar Baldwin has been selected as one of the top 10 candidates for the 2020 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award, as announced by The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Named after Class of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player Jerry West, the annual honor in its sixth year recognizes the top shooting guards in Division I men's college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel narrowed down the watch list from 20 to just 10 candidates.
Baldwin leads the 17-5 Bulldogs at 16.0 points per game. His scoring average has risen to 18.9 in BIG EAST contests. Baldwin is averaging 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game, helping the Bulldogs to No. 19 rankings in both of this week's national polls. Baldwin has climbed into the top 10 on Butler's career scoring, steals and assists lists this season. The senior led Butler to the 2019 Hall of Fame Classic title, earning MVP honors as 17 of his 22 points in the title game against Stanford came in the final 8:34, including the game-winner with five seconds to play.

The College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy's in Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday, April 10, 2020, along with the other four members of the Men's Starting Five.
Additional awards being presented and sponsored by Eaton Ephesus Lighting include the Bob Cousy Point Guard Award, the Julius Erving Small Forward Award, the Karl Malone Power Forward Award and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center Award, in addition to the Women's Starting Five.
