Butler dropped both games of a doubleheader to Villanova on Saturday in their first home weekend of the year. Villanova took game one, 3-0, followed by a 4-1 win in game two.
Butler is now 9-10 on the year and the Wildcats move to 10-7.
In game one, Villanova got on the board in the top of the first inning when Paige Raunch connected on a home run.

Karli Ricketts would give up single runs in the third and fifth innings before
Mackenzie Griman closed out the final two innings.
In game two, Villanova jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second. In the bottom half of the inning, Ricketts smashed a home run to even things up at 1-1. Villanova answered in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring up three runs.
Butler and Villanova will meet for the final game of the series on Sunday. First pitch is set for noon at the Butler Softball Field.
