The Bulldogs return to action with a weekend series at UConn. The teams are scheduled for a Saturday doubleheader followed by a single game Sunday.
It will be the first BIG EAST match-up between the two programs. Butler joined the conference prior to the 2014 season (the same season that UConn left the BIG EAST for the American). UConn rejoined the BIG EAST, beginning with the 2020-21 season.
UConn will stream Saturday's doubleheader; live stats will be available for all three contests.
Butler enters the weekend series with a record of 9-11 overall and 2-4 in BIG EAST play. UConn is 10-10 (2-1 in BIG EAST play).
The Bulldogs lead the BIG EAST with a 2.91 ERA and 140 strikeouts. Butler's opponents are hitting only .250 on the season, which is second to UConn (.244) in the BIG EAST. UConn is second to the Bulldogs in ERA at 2.95. Butler's four shutouts trail only Villanova (six).
Karli Ricketts leads the Bulldogs with a 2.43 ERA. That is second in the BIG EAST. Posting a 2.80 ERA,
Alyssa Graves is fourth in the conference. Ricketts' 73 strikeouts lead the league, which Graves is tied for fourth with 47. Rickets is 6-4 on the season and those six wins are tied for the BIG EAST lead.
Lauren Fey's .491 batting average is third in the BIG EAST, while her .603 on-base percentage is second among conference players. Her 28 hits and 16 walks lead the BIG EAST. Fey is hitting .500 in the team's six BIG EAST games.
Ricketts leads the BIG EAST with 21 RBI. She has five home runs and five doubles, which are both third in the BIG EAST.
Butler's 28 stolen bases trail only UConn (51) among the BIG EAST teams. Fey leads the Bulldogs with nine stolen bases, which is third in the conference.
Following the weekend series, Butler will return to action Tuesday, hosting Indiana State in a non-conference match-up. The Bulldogs are also slated to welcome St. John's to town next weekend for a three-game conference series.
