A second-round 68 vaulted
Claire Edwards into third place at the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky University. The final 18 holes of the event will be played Tuesday.
Edwards opened Monday with a 74 followed by the four-under 68. The 68 was one shot shy of the best round of the day. Edwards' total of 142 (-2) through 36 holes trails leader Katie Hallihan of Cincinnati by seven shots.
Butler's
Megan Skoog and
Ally Ross are tied for 16
th at 148 (+4). Ross shot a one-under 71 in Monday's second round at the University Club at Arlington.
Katelyn Le (T-43; 155) and
Alaina Bowie (T-67; 161) round out the Butler five.
The host Colonels own an 11-shot lead in the team standings at 578. EKU is followed by Cincinnati (589), Akron (592), and then Butler (593). There are 14 teams in the field.
Emma Kelly is playing as an individual and is tied for 70
th.
The teams are scheduled for a final 18 holes Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
