Huffman has been recognized by Golf Digest in their selection of "Best Teachers" every year since 2013 and was selected as the PGA Teacher of the Year for the state of Indiana in 2012, the youngest ever in the state at the age of 35.

Huffman served as the director of training and the lead instructor at the Hank Haney IJGA from 2004-09. He trained more than 15 instructors, including former PGA Tour professionals, on how to teach and coach.
