The Butler men's tennis team edged out a victory over the University of Illinois Chicago in their season opener. The Bulldogs pulled out the 4-3 win by taking four of the singles matches.
In the doubles matches,
Thomas Brennan and
Alvaro Huete Vadillo teamed up to win their set. However, UIC duos won the No. 2 and No. 3 to claim the doubles point.
Butler shinned in the singles matches. Brennan and Huete Vadillo won in straight sets while
Borja Miralles and
Nicolas Arts won in three sets.
Michael Karr and
Rahulniket Konakanchi forced a third set with their opponents before falling.
The Bulldogs stay in Kalamazoo to take on Western Michigan tomorrow, Jan. 14.
