The Bulldogs move to 4-2 on the season after their Saturday trip to Urbana, Ill. The doubleheader saw Butler fall to Illinois 4-0 before bouncing back to beat Illinois State 4-1. 

The loss to Illinois saw the Fighting Illini take control early, taking the doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and No. 3. Butler's No. 2 duo, Borja Miralles and Nicolas Arts, won the only match for the Bulldogs, 6-3. 
 
Illinois clinched the win by earning points in the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 6 matches. Thomas Brennan was Butler's top performer in the singles after losing a close first set 5-7 before the match was unfinished. 
 
In their win against Illinois State, the No. 1 duo Brennan and Alvaro Huete Vadillo won in dominant fashion, sweeping their opponents. Rahulniket Konakanchi and Patrick Joss teamed up at the No. 3 spot to close out the doubles point for the Bulldogs with a 6-1 win. 
 
Brennan won again in his No. 1 singles matchup in straight sets. Likewise, Joss impressed in his first win of the season, taking the No. 5 spot in two sets. Huete Vadillo lost the first set 4-6 but in comeback fashion won the next two 6-1 and closed out the win for Butler. 
 
Butler are back in action Sunday in Bloomington against Indiana.
