Bulldogs to Battle Davidson on Saturday Afternoon

Butler will look to bounce back in PFL action this weekend with a road game at Davidson. ESPN+ will stream the 1 p.m. kick-off at Davidson College Stadium.

- Butler's lone TD vs. the Flyers came on an eight-yard rush by Reagan Andrew.
- Andrew rushed for a career-high 87 yards in the setback and passed for 50 yards.
- Andrew's 33-yard run in the third quarter matched the longest rush of his BU career.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON: The Wildcats have the best rushing attack in the nation, averaging 359 yards on the ground. Mari Adams leads the PFL and ranks fourth in the nation in rushing yards per game (126.3) and Mason Sheron spells the Wildcat starter to deliver 86.9 yards per contest. Adams and Sheron rank first and second in the league in rushing touchdowns. Adams is up to 11 after last weekend and Sheron sits at nine. Davidson ran for 411 yards last weekend in their 70-48 win over Stetson. The victory improved their overall record to 5-2 and kept the Wildcats undefeated at home (5-0).
 
Mari Adams was named PFL Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday after scoring three touchdowns against Stetson. He ran for 135 yards on just 13 carries. The game was his fifth 100-yard rushing performance this season.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: Davidson leads the all-time series against Butler 10-6. The Wildcats won the first five meetings, but the Bulldogs responded by winning the next six. Momentum has shifted back to Davidson in recent years with the Wildcats winning the last five matchups.
 
Butler hasn't won against Davidson since 2016. This is a rivalry that got started back in 2003.
 
LAST MEETING: Davidson scored 21 points in the second quarter to give the Wildcats a 28-14 advantage at the half, but the Bulldogs would fight back with 19 second half points. BU lined up for a 58-yard field goal attempt on the last play of the game, but the kick was short and Davidson would leave the Sellick Bowl with a 35-33 victory.
 
Davidson posted 506 yards of total offense in the win. They were led by Mari Adams who posted 171 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
 
TOP DAWGS: BU leads the nation in third down conversion percentage (58.3%), red zone offense, and scoring defense (11.1 ppg).
 
The Bulldogs are 28-for-28 on red zone scoring chances this season.
 
BEND DON'T BREAK: Butler leads the PFL and ranks third in the country in red zone defense.
 
Butler opponents have only scored six times on 10 red zone trips.
 
MISTAKE FREE FOOTBALL: Butler leads the PFL in fewest penalties (20) and fewest penalty yards (195).
 
Butler also leads the league in fewest sacks allowed (6) and fewest tackles for loss allowed (27).
 
STOP THE RUN: Davidson has scored 30+ points in every game against Butler over the last five meetings. Last year was the first time BU held Davidson under 300 rushing yards (282)since 2016. The Bulldogs currently rank second in the PFL and 28th in the FCS in rushing defense (121.0).
 
The Bulldogs have not allowed an opponent to rush for 200 yards in a single-game this season. Murray State was the closest, running for 198 vs. BU in Week 2. 
 
LEAGUE LEADER: Reagan Andrew leads the league in completion percentage (68.5%) and ranks sixth in both passing yards and rushing yards per game.
 
Andrew is a dual threat that has rushed for four touchdowns over the team's last three games. He and Nick Howard are tied for third in the PFL in rushing touchdowns (5).
 
SUPER SENIOR: Joey Suchy will suit up for his 40th game as a Bulldog on Saturday. The school record for most games played at BU is set at 45, a feat that has been accomplished by 11 players.
 
RB Billy Dozier has played in 51 college football games. Six at Butler and 45 at NIU.
 
UPCOMING MILESTONES: Ethan Loss needs 139 receiving yards to reach 1,000 in his career. Reagan Andrew is also just 175 passing yards away from 1,000.
 
Loss had a career day at Drake two weeks ago with 86 receiving yards in Des Moines. Andrew threw for a career-high 193 yards in the win at Murray State.
 
UP NEXT: The month of November will begin with Butler hosting Stetson at 1 PM. The Hatters  just lost to Davidson last weekend to move their overall record to 2-4.
 
Stetson's game against Valparaiso scheduled for Oct. 12 was postponed due to Hurricane Milton. Their only other PFL game this year was a 10-point setback at St. Thomas.
