Bulldogs Win Big at Home 46-13

Butler defeated Stetson 46-13 on Saturday afternoon at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl. The Bulldogs recorded 471 yards of total offense and had a 100-yard interception return by Jeremiah Jackson to highlight contest.

Nick Howard accounted for four touchdowns against the Hatters with three coming on the ground and another through the air to Trevon Brown. Howard had touchdown runs of seven, eight and five yards while his pass to Brown covered 10-yards. He ended the contest with 92 rushing yards to lead the team.

The BU rushing attack also got a lift from Griffin Caldwell and his 91-yard performance. Caldwell scored the first points of the day on an eight-yard TD run. He averaged over 10 yards per carry and had the longest rush of the day at 20 yards.

Reagan Andrew added 41 rushing yards for the Bulldogs and was once again the team leader with 144 passing yards. He went 11-for-15 against the Hatters and also caught a pass on a trick play that went for 34 yards.

Andrew's favorite targets on Saturday were Ethan Loss and Luke Wooten. Loss had three catches for 47 yards and Wooten recorded 46 receiving yards on two receptions.

Butler's defense shut Stetson out in the first half and would limit the Hatters to just 13 points on the day. Jackson's big interception return was one of two interceptions on the day. Nick Bafia joined Jackson with a pick against Brady Meitz.

Adam Sturtz led Butler with seven tackles and Onye Onuoha played great with five tackles and a sack. Butler's other sack was a drive-killer by Jack Burch.

On special teams, Kameron Armstrong was able to recover a fumble during a kickoff which set up a Bulldog touchdown. Ryan Short was perfect on extra points today (5-5) and nailed a 35-yard field to cap off the scoring in the first quarter.

Next Saturday the 'Dawgs will travel to Valparaiso to take on the Beacons. That game will kick at 2 p.m. ET.
