The Butler track and field team is set to toe the line this weekend from May 9-11 at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in Philadelphia, PA.

Men
The Bulldog distance team will have quintets in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. The 5K team consists of Jesse Hamlin, Florian Le Pallec, David Slapak, Jack McMahon, and Matteo Rosio. In the 10K, Le Pallec, McMahon, and Rosio will be joined by Will Minnette and Sean Robertson.

Jesse Hamlin currently holds the top time in the 5,000 meters and the third-best time for the 1,500 meters in the BIG EAST. He will compete in both events after redshirting his outdoor season last year.

Florian Le Pallec will look to go for the Bulldog five-peat in the 10,000 meters after Barry Keane claimed the 10k title at the previous four championships (2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 with the 2020 championships not being held due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Le Pallec also holds the top time in the conference for the 10,000 and will race in both distance events.

Rounding out the distance team, Martin Kovacech is also entered into the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

In the middle distance, Butler's 800-meter record holder William Cuthbertson will lead the way in the event. He will be joined by Liam Dennis and Aedan Rendek on the heat sheet.

The sprints team will include Ben Bradley (100m), Luke Finnegan (200m), Troy Larrison (200m), Michael Beros (400m), and Gavin Cougle (400m).

Cougle is the last Bulldog with a conference-best time in the 400 meters. He ran a new school record last Friday at the Billy Hayes Invitational and will look to carry the momentum into this weekend. The Bulldogs will also be sending two relay teams for the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.

In the field, Luke Walden will lead the way in the pole vault after breaking the 36-year-old program record and earning BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week last week. He will be joined by Jack Elder who is also competing in the decathlon after finishing in second last season.

The jumps team will feature Zac Stanley (LJ), Cabott Craft (TJ, LJ), Drew Herman (HJ), and Sean Davies (HJ).

Women
In the distance races, Elsa Rusthoven and Renate Toldo are listed on the heat sheets for the 5,000 meters while Ashlyn Minton and Abby Olson are set to toe the line in the 10,000 meters.
Wiktoria Klebowska plans to compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase where she enters with the fourth-best time in the conference.

Morgan Walsh and Abby Fostveit are entered for the 800 meters while Allie Minier will compete in the 400 intermediate hurdles.

The Bulldog sprints team will feature six student-athletes including Jade Cadichon (100m), Lauren Doerr (100m), Jocelyn Davis (200m), Abby Brennan (400m), Reagan Kelly (400m), and Clara Reynolds (400m).

In the multis, Lily Wharton will be the lone Bulldog competitor in the heptathlon.

Butler will also be sending their 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams to compete this weekend. However, they will not have any student-athletes competing in the field.
