Pierre Brooks II led the Bulldogs to a 75-69 win over Providence in the first round of the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament.

Butler advances to play top-seeded St. John's in Thursday's quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

With the win, Butler is now 14-18 on the season; Providence falls to 12-20.

OF NOTE:
- Butler never trailed in the contest, with a 14-point lead in the second half being the largest of the game.
- Brooks went 11-for-18 from the field, adding seven rebounds. It was the ninth 20-point game of the season for Brooks.
- Jahmyl Telfort added 16 points for Butler, including 13 in the first half.
- Landon Moore came off the bench to score nine points – all in the second half. It was his best scoring output since Feb. 15 when he put up 13 points in the win over Georgetown.
- Butler shot 48 percent from the field.
- The Bulldogs committed only six turnovers, while forcing Providence into 13 miscues.
- Providence held a 53-29 rebounding advantage behind 25 offensive rebounds. The Friars only converted those 25 offensive rebounds into 18 second-chance points.
- Butler's defense limited PC to 38-percent shooting, including only 8-for-35 from three-point range. The Friars hit a combined 26 three-pointers in the two regular season games against Butler.
- Bensley Joseph led Providence with 20 points. Oswin Erhunmwunse had 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
