The Bluejays scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to come back and earn a 12-7 win over Butler. The Bulldogs had a late 7-6 advantage after scoring all seven of their runs in the fourth, but CU batted around in the eighth to grab the victory.
Â
Jack Bello belted a solo home run to ignite the Bulldog offense. The shot to right seemed to rattle Creighton starter Dominic Cancellieri and BU would take advantage of their new opportunity.
Â
Connor Sackett and
David Ayers quickly added RBI singles to the scoreboard and
Ryan Drumm would then double down the leftfield line to score a pair. The two-out rally continued with
Logan Crock hitting a double to right and the scoring came to a close after a
Jack Moroknek single back up the middle of the diamond.
Â
Bello had a three-hit game as the designated hitter on Friday. He was one of six Bulldogs with an RBI in the setback. Moroknek had two hits on the day and Drumm led the team with his two RBIs.

Â
The loss went to
Nate Rosser who moved to 2-3 on the mound. BU also got three strikeouts from
Brett Sherrard who threw the ninth.
Â
Creighton's starter went 3.2 innings before leaving the contest. He struck out five and walked one. Only one of the seven runs against him were earned. Jimmy Burke was used in relief and the win went to Matthew Aukerman.
