Matt Scherrman hit two home runs on Saturday to push Creighton to a 13-1 win over Butler at Bulldog Park. Scherrman only had two home runs all season heading into the today's matchup. His first homer came in the fifth and the second came in the sixth.

Creighton scored two in the fifth, three in the sixth, six in the seventh and two in the eighth to collect their 30th win of the season. Butler's lone run came around in the bottom of five as

Marcus Goodpaster and Jack Pineau were completely in control over the four innings of the game. Goodpaster was eventually hit with the loss to move to 3-4 on the bump. With the win, Pineau improved to 3-0. Pineau threw six full, struck out eight and only walked two.

The back end of the CU lineup was terrific on Saturday. Scherrman went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a team-best six RBIs. Will MacLean went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Second baseman Kyle Hess also had two hits while scoring two runs.

BU had five hits recorded by five different players.

With Sunday's forecast calling for rain, Butler and Creighton will return to the diamond tomorrow for an 11:30 a.m. start.
