The Creighton Bluejays moved to 31-13 on the year with a 16-4 win over Butler in the getaway game.
Connor Sackett tied the game at 3-3 in the third with a two-run home run, but CU took control of the action with an eight-run fourth inning.
Â
Creighton scored one run in each of the first three innings and followed up the eight-run fourth with a single run in the sixth followed by four in the ninth.
Â
Butler broke onto the scoreboard with a bases loaded hit by pitch. Sackett's homer to left came with two outs in the frame and BU would get to four total runs after a
Jack Moroknek RBI single through the right side to score Solomon.
Â
Moroknek, Drumm and Sackett all had two hits in the setback. Connor Capece was the driving force of the Bluejay offense. The CU catcher went 4-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Â
The win went to Wilson Magers while the loss landed on
Corbin Snyder. Magers tossed five and struck out four while only walking one.
Ben Whiteside got the start for BU but was limited to just 2.2 innings.
Alex Kanipe and
Tate Foxson took care of the bulk of the innings in relief.
