Box Score Butler capped an impressive weekend at the University of Akron Tournament in Ohio by defeating Oregon State, 3-0, Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs, which opened the week ranked No. 19 in the NSCAA national poll, followed Friday's win over No. 7 UC Santa Barbara by beating the Beavers, who were receiving votes in the national polls.

David Goldsmith had two goals for the Bulldogs, who improve to 4-0-1 on the season.
Eric Dick orchestrated his and the team's third shutout of the five-game season, making three saves in the contest. Oregon State is now 3-2-1 on the season.

Marco Charalambous got Butler on the board first in the 19
th minute, working a give and go from the sideline with freshman
Alex Lehtinen. It was Charalambous's second goal of the season and Lehtinen's first collegiate point.

Goldsmith scored the first of his two goals in the 39
th minute. A.R. Smith and
Lewis Suddick assisted on the goal, which came from a sliding shot from the senior All-BIG EAST performer.

Goldsmith found the net again in the 89
th minute, combining with
Charlie Constantino and
Mitch Ostrowski on a play from midfield that was flicked into the box and then sent into the net.

The performance capped an impressive two-match performance by Goldsmith in Akron. He had four goals, an assist, and 16 shots on the weekend.

Butler had a 17-7 advantage in shots, and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
