Â

Â
In the 59
th minute,
David Goldsmith was able to track down a long ball and keep it in play on the end line. His feed to
Jared Timmer was collected. The sophomore moved the ball to his right foot and sent a blast from 25 yards out. The low shot ricocheted off an IU defender and got by Hoosiers keeper Colin Webb. Prior to the shot, Indiana had taken the first five shots of the second half.
Â
Three minutes later, Goldsmith and Timmer played a give and go that Goldsmith sent him in the upper right 90 for a 2-0 lead. It marked the first time that IU had allowed multiple goals in a match this season.
Â
In the 75
th minute, IU was able to convert on its tenth corner kick of the match. Trevor Swartz played a ball to the far post that Tanner Thompson scored with his left foot. Less than five minutes later, Butler was whistled for a handball in the box.
Â
Tanner Thompson stepped up to take the penalty kick, which was saved by a diving
Eric Dick. The rebound went directly to Phil Fives, who fired a shot that Dick was also able to save. However, this rebound caromed to the right side of the net and Swartz was able to find the net.
Â
Following chances by both sides in the closing minutes, the match went to overtime. Panchot took a soft cross from Fives and scored on the right side of the net for the game-winner.
