A second-half comeback led Dayton to a 27-22 win over visiting Butler Saturday afternoon in Ohio. The host Flyers outscored Butler, 17-0, over the final 30 minutes of play.
With the result, Butler is now 5-4 on the season, while Dayton is 4-5. Both teams are 3-3 in Pioneer Football League play.
Butler took a 22-10 halftime lead behind three touchdowns by redshirt senior
Sam Schrader. He had a pair of 1-yard scoring runs in addition to connecting with
Anthony Scaccia on a 21-yard scoring strike.
After pulling within two points midway through the third quarter, Dayton would take the 27-22 lead on a two-yard touchdown pass from Alex Jeske to Adam Trautman with 9:20 to play.
Butler's final two possessions ended in interceptions, including a pick by the Dayton defense on 2
nd and 10 at the Dayton 12 with 37 seconds remaining on the clock.

Will Marty threw for 267 yards to lead the Butler offense. Schrader added 50 yards through the air in addition to 67 rushing yards.
Pace Temple had another big day for the Bulldogs, collecting 126 yards on seven receptions.
Butler had an advantage in first downs (26 to 19) and total yards (478 to 314), but was done in by a season-high three turnovers. The Bulldogs entered the game third in FCS in fewest turnovers committed.
Jeske had 172 yards passing for Dayton. He added 69 yards rushing and touchdown on the ground.
Isaac Newhouse led Butler with nine tackles, including seven solo stops.
Ethan Brunhofer added eight.
Chad Burdo had a sack for the Butler defense.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday (Nov. 4), traveling to Stetson for a PFL match-up. The final regular season contest is slated for the Sellick Bowl Nov. 11, when Valparaiso makes the trip to Indianapolis.
