The Bulldogs claimed victories at the top two singles spots in a 5-2 loss to Cleveland State Saturday afternoon. The road loss puts Butler at 3-10 on the season.
Bailey Padgett won her No. 1 singles match over Isabella Spindler in three sets, taking a match tiebreaker, 10-8, after splitting the first two sets.
Rachel Sutton did the same at the No. 2 singles spot, using an 11-9 match tiebreaker to beat Victoria Bensimon, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0.
Padgett and Sutton also teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles.
The Vikings were able to claim the doubles point with wins on the second and third courts, and took four singles matches in straight sets.
