Bulldogs Weekly Recap
The Bulldogs claimed 1-0 victories over Creighton and St. John's last week. Soderstrom nailed the game-winner in both contests. Soderstrom's goal in Omaha came in the 93rd minute to close the game against the Bluejays in OT.  Her goal in the 78th minute against the Red Storm broke the draw and held through regulation for the win.

Rodriguez posted clean sheets in both matches, grabbing five saves against Creighton and another three versus St. John's.

The two wins maintained Butler's No. 2 rank in the BIG EAST standings, and helped Rodriguez and Soderstrom to BIG EAST Weekly accolades.

No.11 Georgetown Hoyas
The No.11 Georgetown Hoyas enter Sunday's match at 10-2-2 (4-0-1) and remain on top of the BIG EAST rankings. The 2018 conference champions most recently faced-off against Creighton. The Bluejays put up a strong fight, jumping to a 2-0 lead in the first period. In the second half, the Hoyas netted two goals (from Julia Leas and Sofia Fox) to equalize the match, ending in a 2-2 draw.

Amanda Carolan leads Georgetown with nine goals, while three other Hoyas have at last three goals this season.

Bulldogs vs. Hoyas in 2018
Sunday's match will be the first meeting of the teams since last season's conference championship, where the No. 4 Hoyas claimed a 1-0 victory. Georgetown's only score came early in the first period and held through the end of the game. The Hoyas limited BU to just two chances on goal. Four Bulldogs, including Amanda Kowalski and Macy Miller, took one shot apiece.

During the 2018 regular season, the Bulldogs fell 2-0 in Washington, D.C. The game remained scoreless at the half, with Butler holding a 6-3 advantage on shots and 5-2 on corners. However, No. 4 Georgetown found two second period goals to insure the win. Savich led BU with 3 shots.

Post-Season Foes
Butler and Georgetown have met in the last three post-season tournaments. In 2016, the teams faced-off in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals, where the Hoyas took the 4-0 victory. In 2017, a similar fate awaited the Bulldogs, this time in the championship match, as Georgetown won 3-0. In 2018, the Bulldogs took on the ranked team again in the championship, where Georgetown just edged out the 1-0 win.

Up Next
The Bulldogs get back on a regular schedule, traveling to Providence on Thursday (Oct. 24) and hosting Marquette on Sunday (Oct. 27). Butler will remain at home to close out the regular season, facing Xavier on Thursday Oct. 31 at 7 PM.
