Sean McDermott Agrees to Two-Way Contract with Memphis Grizzlies

Butler graduate Sean McDermott has agreed to an NBA two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Each NBA franchise is allowed two players on two-way contracts, serving as the 16th and 17th roster spots on the NBA roster while also able to spend time with the team's NBA G-League franchise.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, the NBA will allow for up to 50 days of service time for two-way players (all for games) and they will be allowed to practice and travel as much as they want. Prior to the pandemic, the league allowed only 45 days of service time for two-way players, including practice days.

McDermott finished his Butler career seventh in three-pointers made (200). As a redshirt senior during the 2019-20 season, he finished second on the team in both scoring (11.7 points per game) and rebounding (6.3 rebounds per game). McDermott helped the Bulldogs to a 22-9 record, finishing the COVID-shortened season in the Top 25 of both national polls. McDermott shot 39.4 percent from three-point range in his final season in Indianapolis.
