INDIANAPOLIS – The 2020 Butler football roster includes 13 defensive linemen that are working at the Sellick Bowl to perfect their craft. Defensive line coach
Derelle Hankins hopes his group can get the job done up front once play resumes.
"This is a young, but very exciting group," Hankins explained. "There's a lot of talented individuals that are learning to work together and communicate with each other. They are all very versatile and can each play every position along the defensive line which makes our defense more than capable of quickly adjusting to multiple fronts and formations. I'm excited to coach such a great group of young men."
Jordan Caselberry and
Michael Dunn are two talented returners in the Bulldog locker room. Caselberry played in 10 games as a freshman making 13 tackles. He opened the year with three tackles vs. #1 North Dakota State and matched that effort with three tackles vs. Jacksonville on homecoming weekend.
Dunn was a run-stuffer that came up with eight tackles over nine games. He got in the Marist backfield often in early November to record a sack and two tackles for loss.
Joe Marra,
Carson Gulgin and
Michael Butler will once again be part of a rotation to keep the Bulldogs fresh.
Nathan Barnes,
Patrick Shallenberger,
Spencer Hulst, and
Nathan Lugo will work towards reps on the practice field along with newcomers
Kayson Romaelle,
Brennan Chavez-Potter,
Sam Urbanski, and
Savon Smith.
