Taylor and Nze Combine for 48 in @ButlerMBB's Exhibition Win Over Tiffin

Butler freshman Jayden Taylor and graduate student Bryce Nze combined for 48 points as Butler posted a 94-84 win over Tiffin in an exhibition contest Saturday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

In his first outing in front of the Bulldog Faithful, Taylor went 8-of-11 from the field, including 5-of-6 from behind the arc, to post 25 points. Nze was almost equally efficient, hitting 11 of his 15 attempts from the field. He posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Aaron Thompson also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists. Bryce Golden narrowly missed one with 10 points and nine rebounds. Jair Bolden added 13 points.

Tiffin, which lost 90-87 to Bellarmine earlier this week, used a 15-for-29 performance from three-point range to stay within reach for much of the afternoon.

"It was great to be back at Hinkle and it was definitely time for us to see an outside opponent," said coach LaVall Jordan. "This was a really good test with their pace and their ability to shoot the ball. We have a lot to take from this and learn from. I thought there was a lot to like as well, especially how we shared the ball."

Butler had 20 assists against only 11 turnovers in the contest. The Bulldogs shot 58 percent from the field, including 10-of-25 from three-point range. Butler had a 37-23 rebounding advantage and posted a 50-28 edge in paint points.

Tanner Johnson led Tiffin with 21 points, going 7-for-8 from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs play their second and final exhibition on Friday, hosting the University of Indianapolis at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
